COVID Vaccine Requirements

COVID-19 Employee Vaccination Policy 

 

Synergy Academies' COVID-19 Employee Vaccination Policy aligned with the Los Angeles Unified School District's COVID-19 vaccination requirement that all District employees were required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no later than October 15, 2021, and explicitly applies to co-located charter school employees and other adults who provide services on District property. On September 26, 2023, the Los Angeles Unified Board of Education (Board) authorized the rescission of the District’s COVID-19 vaccination requirement. 

 

Synergy Academies adopted the LAUSD student COVID-19 vaccination policy in alignment with District requirements for co-located charter schools. Per this policy, the COVID-19 vaccination will be required for all students 12 and older at the start of the Fall 2022 semester.*

 

Vaccinating your child is the best way to protect them from getting COVID-19, and Synergy encourages you to get your child vaccinated as soon as possible. The COVID-19 vaccine is now available for all children ages 5 and older. Boosters are also available for everyone age 12 and older. 

 

*LAUSD adopted revised policies at their Board meeting on December 14, 2021, and Synergy's Board adopted an amendment to their September 25, 2021 resolution to reflect this change. The current policy states that all students age 12 and older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by the start of the Fall 2022 semester. 

 

**LAUSD adopted revised policies at their Board meeting on May 10, 2022, and Synergy's Board adopted a second amendment to their September 25, 2021 resolution to reflect this change. The updated policies state that COVID-19 vaccine requirements for students will align with the State of California's COVID vaccine requirements for students, which will take effect no sooner than July 1, 2023.

 

Synergy Academies' COVID-19 Policy, Prevention Program, and Exposure Management Plan outlines the procedures Synergy will follow in response to possible reports of COVID-19 infection and exposure, as well as measures Synergy will take to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 on school campuses and within our workplace. As public health guidance changes, Synergy's policies and procedures will be updated accordingly.

The LA County Department of Public Health's TK-12 Schools and Youth Programs COVID-19 Data Dashboard provides information regarding school-based COVID-19 testing and the Cumulative COVID-19 Cases in TK-12 Schools in the current school year for all LA County schools, including Synergy's schools. Data reflects information reported to Public Health on COVID-19 cases among students, teachers, and staff.
