It has been widely reported in the news that UTLA, the labor union that represents teachers in the Los Angeles Unified School District, has been in contract negotiations with the district for over a year. Over the Winter Break, UTLA announced that they will go on strike on Thursday, January 10th, if they do not come to an agreement with the school district before then. If that happens, it means that many teachers at traditional LAUSD schools will not report to work. This does not include charter schools like Synergy Kinetic Academy.
